What Bihzuun Is

Bihzuun is an institutional-grade equity research process, not a stock-tip feed. Every company we cover goes through the same disciplined pipeline: a proprietary quantitative filter, a multi-agent research process that builds out the full investment case, and an explicit, timestamped rating that we track to a defined outcome — publicly, including when we’re wrong. See our Track Record page for the actual numbers.

The Bihzuun Value Filter (BVF)

Every company we cover has to clear the Bihzuun Value Filter first. The BVF is a multi-dimensional screen evaluating a company across several independent dimensions before it ever reaches a research write-up:

  • Profitability quality — is the business actually generating strong returns on the capital shareholders have committed to it?
  • Balance sheet discipline — is leverage at a level that leaves room to withstand a bad year without existential risk? This is the one dimension we treat as an absolute disqualifier — no amount of strength elsewhere compensates for a fragile balance sheet.
  • Income return — is the company returning cash to shareholders in a form we consider a higher-conviction signal of financial health than buybacks alone?
  • Growth consistency — has revenue grown at a pace that meaningfully outruns inflation over a long horizon, not just a good recent quarter?
  • Margin of safety — using a conservative, multi-model intrinsic value estimate, is the current price genuinely below what the business is worth? This is the final gate, and it is non-negotiable: a company can look attractive on every other dimension and still not qualify if the price doesn’t leave room for being wrong.

We don’t publish the specific thresholds behind the BVF. Not because the underlying philosophy is a secret — it draws openly on decades of value-investing tradition — but because the exact calibration is the proprietary part of our process, the same way an asset manager doesn’t publish their exact model parameters. What we do publish, always, is whether a company passed and why, in plain language, in every research report.

Some days, nothing passes. We publish that too — a zero-pass day is a real research finding about market conditions, not a failure to produce content, and treating it as anything else would be exactly the kind of discipline-erosion the BVF exists to prevent.

The Bihzuun Research Score (BRS)

Passing the BVF gets a company a research write-up, not an automatic rating. The Bihzuun Research Score is built by a multi-agent research process that takes the BVF’s quantitative output and layers in what a screen alone can’t capture: competitive positioning, balance sheet quality beyond the raw ratios, near-term catalysts and risks, and a valuation sanity-check across five independent models blended into a single composite fair value. The BRS is expressed as a star rating, and it’s the product of that full process — never just the screen’s numeric output relabeled.

The Bihzuun Research Rating (BRR)

The BRR is the final published verdict for a given research report or review cycle — a specific posture (for example, a rating tier with a target price and a stated timeframe), or, on a review cycle, a verdict on existing coverage: hold, monitor, downgrade, or remove. The BRR is what we hold ourselves accountable to on the Track Record page: every rating of real conviction gets logged the moment it publishes and tracked to a defined close.

Coverage Lifecycle

Once a company clears the BVF and receives a BRS rating, it enters active coverage rather than being re-screened from scratch every day. Coverage is reviewed on a fixed cadence — monthly, quarterly, and annually — where we re-examine the thesis against what’s actually happened since initiation and issue an updated verdict. If the thesis breaks, we remove the company from coverage. We publish every removal with full reasoning, every time — a company never quietly disappears from coverage. Being wrong about a name is a normal, expected part of a disciplined research process; publishing that honestly is what makes the rest of this credible.

Accountability

Every rated call is logged, tracked to a defined close, and reported on our Track Record page — hit rate, directional win rate, and performance against the S&P 500, always shown side by side rather than collapsed into one flattering number. We’d rather you see all three and judge for yourself.

The Bihzuun Value Filter (BVF), Bihzuun Research Score (BRS), and Bihzuun Research Rating (BRR) are proprietary research frameworks; methodology details beyond what is described on this page are not disclosed.
